Shroud follows Ninja to Mixer
Quote:
Grzesiek, a former professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player, made his announcement on Twitter today. His first stream is today at 8pm ET. He jokes in the announcement video that he’s “making moves,” following in the same footsteps as another popular streamer, Ninja.

Two of Twitch's biggest streamers stolen by Mixer. Seems like Twitch has a problem.

That or MS has big pockets.

Is it a prerequisite of being a popular twitch star to look like a smug douchebag?
Seriously, I wouldn't buy weed from that guy. I might rob him though.

or... Microsoft looks at marketing costs for Mixer and goes: a million$$ to spend on traditional advertising?! or we drop it in the bank account of a popular Twitch streamer and get better results and more eyeballs....Hmmmm....?

This is likely not far from the truth I would gather.

Look how his hands are folded. Total effeminate dweeb. You'd have to be stream for a living.

This is becoming a new version of sports teams. Twitch vs Mixer. Amazon vs Microsoft. The UFC vs Bellator. NASCAR. NBA, etc. These are just companies paying superstars to come to their team.
The friend I have who is the biggest into Twitch said this made him download Mixer, that this guy is so good and entertaining that it was worth it. I have seen Shoud a few times, his personality isn't anything amazing, but it's not annoying either. His draw is that he's insanely good a FPS's. If they want to get the best of each genre they'll go for Maxamillian_Dood for fighting games. He already loves Killer Instinct, and is easily the most popular fighting game streamer.
It's kind of weird, but we're old and this is the new frontier I suppose.

I almost hate to admit it but I'm older and I still get the draw. A good chunk of the reason I play games is for the art, music, and stories, not just the challenge. There have been plenty of times that I've watched Twitch to see someone who is good at a game that I don't own and don't want to take the time to get good at just to see the game in action for a while. There are some entertaining people out there too, even ones that aim at an older audience.

I'm sure he hears worse than that every day, but knowing that he's 25 and already earned more money than the average lifetime salary of us poor saps that have to work 9 to 5s make it all better. But seriously, 2.6 mil a year for streaming, what the fuck.

True, but irrelevant, because Twitch/Amazon doesn't pay streamers like this.
Also, found this story interesting:
