I can do $350 USD max. And I'd rather rock in the $250 range.

You might wait for the Nvidia 660, it will be $300 and slightly faster than a 7950 according to this article - http://wccftech.com/details-nvidias-...usd-price-tag/

I've waited this long. Can definitely wait a bit longer.

I just bought a Sapphire Radeon HD 6570 2GB DDR3 for $80 not too long ago and it's been a huge improvement over my old 4650 - runs Diablo 3 at 1920x1080x32@60Hz beautifully. You don't need to spend much to get a huge performance boost.

He wants to run Witcher 2 at ultra settings though, if that includes the ubersampling setting then he will need a very powerful card

I'm amazed my card has not dropped in price much, and it's a noisy hot beast but man does it pull some beautiful buttery smooth shit because it's factory overclocked to the maximum. I think I got it for 180ish last black Friday, and it's still that high. XFX high end cards are really nice, with a low profile and good support/rebate support so long as you don't dick around and fill out the required material. No issues yet.

Here is your $359.99 USD max limit card. I approve this, and you would make me a jealous bastard... not to mention you get 3 nice games for free with it.

in-fact... this will be my next card when the price comes down a bit.

I would have to say wait a little bit for the nvidia 660 or wait for the inevitable price drop on the amd 7870 or 7950.

I love and do not regret my 7850 purchase at all, but its been nearly 4 months since then and both videocard venders have released new cards that should have lowered the price a bit. It's not the incredible price/performance card it was back in march.

On a related note, the drivers for the 7800 series have improved drastically since march.

Man, thanks to everyone for all the great feedback and thoughts! I'll probably wait on the Nvidia 660. Hopefully, the money will be there when it drops! You all know how that goes.

Are you looking into possibly getting a SSD in the future for your rig? I would highly recommend it. It provides a huge difference in performance. The price is always changing for the better and you can keep the 500GB for added storage. I do the same for my setup.

Thanks for the suggestion. I went ahead and purchased this card for my Son's computer.

I've been debating that. Won't you have to reformat the drive with all the original files though? I'd have my OS on the SSD and just have everything else on the 500 gig. Also forgot to mention the specs have changed a bit. Actually have two 500 gig HDD with 12 gig of RAM. The HDD is the exact same one as my original and the RAM is some G-Skill Ripjaws I believe.

Yeah you would have to redo some stuff. I just backed up everything I had and made the changes.

I do the same. I put the OS on the SSD and also any apps or games that I want a performance increase in. For instance Skyrim. Its performance dramaticly changed when I installed it on the SSD. For other games, like WoW and Diablo3, I just install on my standard HDD.

Hey Sai, I wanted to tell you that you should get the 670... the lower bandwidth on the 660 will hurt it in the future with the HI res textures... Right now the 670 is right under 370 with a code on newegg but this is only good until 8-21.... thats a great deal...

Screw it. I you're willing to go as high as $370, by that point I say go all out man. Get a nice card, and score yourself a free copy of Borderlands 2, a game we all know will consume our lives through the entire season of Autumn and still going strong while ringing in the new years joy. That's a solid return of $59.99 you would have had to spend on the game. If you discount the value of the game from the retail price, you're now at $409.99, basically paying around $102.50 per gigabyte and you get a slick board that can run that shit.

You've been patient this long, but Borderlands 2 comes out soon so there isn't much time. Sweet new video card, or feeding your family. That's an obvious one... 4 gigabytes of obvious. Think it over. Treat yourself. You deserve it.

Why not go for GTX 560 ti 1GB fermi??? it's budget card about 200~250 that's got much more power than 275 by far..... you won't need to change the card for at least 2 or 3 years with this card depends on what you play.

So you have i7 that's great, but then why don't you get 8GB (4GB x 2) rams instead of 6GB(2GB x 3)? I know you won't need more than 4GB for gaming but having even numbers of ram is more stable than 3 rams. It's about $50 or less. Just helping you out.

Better card gives you better graphic and ram gives you the speed (no lag) ))

Any other questions?? )
