Bland gray skins is EA' s plan to get people to pre order?

Some of the trailers of this game look good. Combat looks fun. But I need to know more about how the game is structured/endgame before I commit. What is the grind like? Do I have to do raids over and over in hopes of a random drop ,because if the anwser yes then I am probably gonna pass on this.

I want to like this game. It just feels so derivative from the trailers.

I don't get any sense of majesty, adventure, or awe from anything shown. It just looks like Destiny with exoskeletons that let you fly and swim.

Exactly, from what we've seen so far to me at least it doesn't look to be very "open world" either, more like on rails.

I like the geometry of the armor in the movie. It looks like WH40K armor. The game might be fantastic but the footage doesn't show that so far.

everything is derivative of something... the majesty in this game is the scenery and some of the combat. you do get to do a lot of flying, but there's so much beautiful stuff to explore its actually fun and makes for some interesting combat encounters/options.

it is totally NOT on rails. the maps are huge, and you can go anywhere you want and/or can survive. we're not talking skyrim huge by any means, but you have a ton of room to get lost in, moutains/valleys/caves/etc, you'll feel like a fly going everywhere.

Saw the words "armor packs" in the trailer and my brain checked out.

Technically true, but there's derivative and then there's "you almost can't tell the difference".

It sounds like you have more hand's on experience which is helpful when it comes to deciding if you're going to drop the price on this Legion of Dawn edition. To me it is still Destiny + Ironman suits.

Wait a second...

Hey, I knew I'd seen this game before!

Oh, never mind. In the Bioware game they fly, not glide. Totally different.

Yah I'll say the comparison to Firefall is totally inaccurate. Just the stuff they showed in that trailer was more content than everything Firefall had all together.

Firefall was an abysmal failure anyone could see coming miles away (who was it that was pimping that game hard on this site?) and Red 5 could barely keep it going.

I signed up for the $100 a year Origin Gamepass thing so I could play BF5 early. Could've got the $15 for one month, but I new I'd want to play Anthem when it came out.

So I am saving a lot of $$, Bf5 deluxe edition was $80, Anthem will be a similar price. And you get to play them early. And there are 150 or so other games to choose from as well.

Hard to believe I am happy with an EA product, but I am. Also really enjoying BF5!

I thought about picking up BF5 this week since Best Buy has it for 30, with their Gamers discount thing the the grand total is around 23 bucks. I am not sure though. BF1 left a bad taste. I haven't enjoyed going back in history with all of the shooters lately. Plus Battlefield games tend to be a shit show for a year after release.

Yea, what the heck is up with that? After they showed off that awesome Mass Effect themed N7 skin, I would have expected the pre-order skins to be something amazing.
