Wasteland 2 Release Date Announced

InXile Entertainment has announced that its post-apocalyptic RPG, Wasteland 2, will be released on September 19th.

Quote:
Newport Beach, California – August 21, 2014 – inXile entertainment is happy to announce the release date for its crowd funded post-apocalyptic cRPG Wasteland 2: it will be coming to digital and physical retailers September 19th!

Wasteland 2 was crowd funded on Kickstarter in early 2012 and has been in development since. The game's scope has only grown as CEO Brian Fargo put up his own money and used back catalogue and Early Access sales to double the initial budget to over $5 million.

"After more than 25 years, it is so exciting to finally deliver this game to our audience," says Mr. Fargo. "The project is so much bigger than originally planned but we wanted to over deliver with a massive game to show how wonderful crowd funding can be. Early response has been strong, we’re excited to get this final game out into the world.”

It's been sitting on my STEAM game list early access for a while. I've decided to hold off playing it until the full version is available. So soon.

I have high hopes for this. Too bad I can't play it.

Same here Syl. Heard the delay was only due to physical distrubution issues and the steam version might get a small day 1 patch, but apart from that she is good to go and start playing.

Well, the entire second act is still under wraps until launch, right?

Looks like you are correct Syl in that Arizona act 2 will be unlocked at release, But reading around it is not as large as the 1st act. Balance patches are more likely to be released to fine tune things.

I don't think that I will be able to resist buying a full version. As it is, I've already almost bought it several times.

Don't know about other countries, but Germany will get the Ranger Edition in a box, which sounds quite nice. Still requires Steam, though, so it's probably not going to be too popular around here...

Can't wait until the full release! I've been keeping out of it like most of you guys.

One of the better kickstarters I've backed.
