L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass Video

The Rockstar Pass is a new way to pre-order and purchase DLC that gives
players access to all of the upcoming downloadable content for L.A. Noire.

Given the money saved by going with the Pass, I'd jump on it in a second were it not for the imminent release of Infamous 2. I'm guessing L.A. Noire will soon be bumped to the back burner for quite some time to come I'm afraid...

Wow, i was under the assumption this was optional. You could still buy the dlc later, but you would pay more for the dlc. Didn't realize you had to buy this to get the rest of the dlc.

I'm playing through the game now (at the Arson cases) and this game is so big with the Golden Reels and optional Street Crime quests... I just can't imagine adding more DLC right now. The game is HUGE!

I agree. I wonder if the DLC is integrated into the story, well general gameplay at least, and hopefully not only accessible from the start screen. If the Store was up then I'd find out.

This is a great idea that I hope more games get behind. Pay an up-front fee to download all current and possibly all future DLC at a reduced price.

Yes, if you have the cases downloaded it applies them story-wise when you are at the correct Detective desk.

The DLC cases are not on the disc. The 200+ MB downloads show that.

(Diddy, I'm not trying to say anything negative about you in this post, it's just that your post brings up a point.) It SOUNDS like a great idea, until you remember that there used to be another way to pay up front and get all the content of a game... it was called BUYING THE GAME!

There's a massive amount of content in this game from the get-go, and we've had expansions for games since the 90's. Think I still have my two Red Alert expansions around here somewhere... Don't see how the $DLC content here is any different, aside from them getting it to you earlier and in smaller pieces.

Pretty sure this way actually works to be cheaper than dropping $40 on a mini-campaign and a couple new units or equipables or whatever.

I totally understand what you're saying. I am just being a realist as far as how the industry is going. And if this all-in-one purchase includes not yet available/made content, then all the better.

Something like this would be a great deal for download-heavy games, like Halo. If they had a Bungie-pass that came out shortly after the game that included all future DLC for a low price, it would make it less of a burden for fans and would also be an incentive for people to keep the game instead of trading it in. Less used copies on the market would lead to more new copy sales for the publisher.
